Workshops at Takoradi Centre

In January we welcomed Madelon Oudshoorn Spaargaren and her daughter Berine Mijnster (her other daughter Pomeline was already at the Centre ☺) Gaby Rappange, Monique Cornelisse (who had been to our Centre the year before) and her daughter Anne Rose Cornelisse, to our Takoradi Centre. They came prepared! First of all they brought along a lot of toys and presents for all the kids and all the material they needed to run their fun, creative and educational workshops. Madelon had prepared a workshop on “Building and Design” using different types of materials and playmobil to build rooms and a village with the children. She was assisted by Pomeline.

Gaby works in advertising and as such organized an “Advertising” workshop, where children encouraged to think about examples of advertising they knew and then went on to make advertising posters themselves! She was assisted by Berine.

Monique has a background in art, fashion and textiles, she taught  a “Knitting workshop”. She also showed them how you could knit using the local textiles. Our star knitter ...was a little boy! Monique’s assistant was her daughter Anne Rose.Nellie had the opportunity to run our second “LEGO” workshop ever! Again a huge success with the kids. Lego requires focus and precision. Isa was there to help out! Nellie had the opportunity to run our second “LEGO” workshop ever! Again a huge success with the kids. Lego requires focus and precision. Isa was there to help out! It was a very successful and busy day which we concluded with a small market where kids were allowed to select a present!
